Audiobyte Computer Speakers got a Consumer Excellence Award from Audioholics

For over 25 years Axiom Audio has set the highest standards in loudspeaker design and performance. Axiom has raised the bar yet again with the release of its first ultra-high performance amplifier - the A1400-8. If you're looking for the best in a high-power multichannel amplifier that overdelivers on every performance element imaginable — but costs a fraction of what you'd expect to pay to get this kind of performance — the Axiom A1400-8 is your answer.

Pretenders beware: The A1400-8 amplifier is a classic in the making. There are lots of 'names' out there making lots of claims, but none that can come close to the A1400-8's ability to dynamically and continuously distribute its 1400 total watts of output power to any combination of one, two, three, four, and up to seven (or eight) channels!

The A1400-8 provides power when and where it's needed to any given channel, as much as 1400 watts into 2 ohms, preventing compression or distortion of the music’s dynamics. That means your system will never sound 'too loud' because you are listening to distortion instead of clean power - a typical problem with conventional receivers that distort and compress sound when they exceed their output capability. The A1400-8 finally gives you the power to reproduce real-life loudness levels that will blow you away: no-compromise spectacular dynamics — even at 4 Ohms or lower impedances — with no overheating, shutting down, clipping or running out of dynamic headroom. All this in a small, sleek, cool-running case that will amaze you with its efficiency. Break through the last barrier to realism with the Axiom A1400-8.

Professional Reviews

Industry Reviews

"The subtlest details were played with finesse and delicacy which resulted in the performers' voices and various instruments sounding genuinely real. With the volume up, I felt like no less but part of the live audience."
-- Suave Kajko, Canada Hi Fi
"Not only was it amazingly powerful, but its transparent, open sound was immediately involving, and didn't lose its appeal over the long term. . . I could easily live with the Axiom as the sole source of power for my reference system. Considering both the quality and quantity of sound that the Axiom A1400-8 provides for $3850, it's one heck of a bargain."
-- Roger Kanno, HomeTheaterSound.com

Below are just a few of the many reviews that our customers have been kind enough to send us.

The amp is like a ballerina with a black belt; it sounds very refined and gentle but can throw a strong punch when needed. I will report more soon. I hope all is well with you and your family.

Holy crap!!!!! My most important client was over and wanted to hear the system. Put on Steely Dan "Gaucho" CD and took it to "+5".

I was having real concerns about anal leakage and thought my ears were going to start bleeding!!

The system:
Epic 600 horizontal + Epic 400  (1 amp fuses fixed everything)
Double front W22
Double front W150
4 x QS8
Axiom amp running all 8 channels (using separate channels for the W150's)
Onkyo 905 as a pre-amp.
Sonic heaven!!

My new amplifier arrived yesterday and I'm blown away.  I guess I never experienced the concept of 'head room' and what it really means.  You can truly sense the bubble of space around the sound.  There doesn't seem to be any ceiling on it.  I'm impressed by the detail of the sound hearing subtleties that I was not aware of before.  The low frequencies are tight and commanding and the highs are warm and never shrill (I especially notice this with high strings).  The sound field, in general, wraps around you and you never get the sense of it being too 'loud'.  While listening to some music in 2 channel stereo, I kept walking back to my rear channel speakers because it sounded like there was sound behind me.  I could not be more pleased.

My Lexicon DC-1 has the capability of 7.1 (Lexicon's propriety "Logic
7") that I've never been able to take advantage of lacking the extra 2 channels of amplification so I'm now going to get another set of rear speakers.  Next I'l lbe keeping my eyes open for a new processor (my Lexicon is at least 10 yrs. old).  I would like to wait until someone comes out with a processor that will embrace the new audio formats that
are anticipated with the "HD" discs (Dolby trueHD and DTS HD MA).   I
hope that Axiom has a processor in development.  An Axiom processor of the same quality as this amplifier would be an exciting addition to audio system.

Please forward my note and kudos to Tom & Ian and let them know how excited and pleased I am with this amplifier and thank you for your help and advice.
