How to Connect Subwoofer to Receiver? Subwoofer Connection Questions

Q. How do I connect the subwoofer to my A/V receiver? I have one cable. Do I plug it into the subwoofer’s left or right input, or both?

A. Use either the left or right line-level RCA jack on the subwoofer. You don’t need to connect it to both, because the inputs are “summed” to mono inside the sub. Connect the remaining RCA male plug at the other end of the shielded coaxial cable to the single “Subwoofer Output” jack on your receiver. It might also be labeled “LFE Out” (Low Frequency Effects) or “Sub Out.”  That’s it!  Subwoofer connection made easy!

Once you’ve made your subwoofer connection, check out these handy placement tips.
