The built-in shelves are very nice. How big of a TV do you have to get to fill up that center space with nothing but TV and Axiom? [looks like a challenge to me]

That is a VERY nice change! It doesn't even look like the same room. I love the built in's (and of course the Axioms!).
Great job!

[looks like a challenge to me] Looks like smart planning to me. "No honey, its the same screen. It always fit like that. "

Thanks guys. Yes the built-ins are custom, did the work myself. TV is a 52" Samsung. I figure I'd need about a 72"er to fill it up, something to strive for I guess. Actually my dad has a 72" and it's too big I think. I know, heresy, never too big.

My first thougth was a 68" plasma looked about right to fill that space. My wife would have killed me for taking away the fireplace.

We have another fireplace in a different room. We've never used either one. My wife had no objection. The theater room is my domain, and my word is law. (she''ll never see this I hope)
The fireplace had to go, it was the only way to get the TV at the right height (eye level when seated). I see a lot of installs where the TV is way too high.
Plus in California it's bordering on being illegal to use fireplaces.
