It does seem to me that you are altering the sound of the M80s. I assume you have adjusted the woofers of the 80s to receive a stronger signal than the mids and highs. What you have now would be rise in the upper to low bass region. You could also achieve somewhat of the same effect just using the tone controls, or bumping up the sub a few notches.
I'm not saying what you have done is either good or bad. If you like the results then what can I say.
