I don't think my wife would see them as too small (even in the worst of locations).
Going larger may not be much of an option as I had also sold my wife on smaller speakers (I have yet to sell off my 12" 3-way Cerwin Vega mains, and 6" 2-way surrounds) that would take up less floor space and be less potentially harmful to our toddler if one fell over.
I'm in the same situation as JefPar. I'll be hanging with my M22's for the forseeable future. If anything, it is my hope that they will sound better than the CV speakers I had been running.
I'm planning to hang on to the 15" CV sub (mentioned above) so bass response in the large-ish room should not be an issue.
