Jappy, of course the bottom line on a receiver(or anything else for that matter)shouldn't be how it's "known", but rather how it is in reality. The Onkyo receivers have had excellent amplifier sections in recent years and the 606 which you're considering is another example of this. If you haven't studied the review and
lab measurements in the August HomeTheater Magazine, it would be of interest to you and you might note that it measured at over 150 watts into 4 ohms. If the features and price are good for you, the amount of maximum power available should be as well, keeping in mind that the M80s are slightly above average in sensitivity and therefore require less power.
