I've got a really good web friend in Brazil who desperately wants me to try their national drink, the
caipirinha. It's made with sugar, limes, and a Brazilian liquor called,
cachaca. Have any of you tried one before? I guess the drink is slowly catching on in the US, but it still can be difficult finding cachaca. Fortunately, I was able to find it around here, but I haven't made the caipirinha yet. I'm waiting to try it the first time during a video chat with my friend so she can either watch me cringe or smile. I'm sure I'll smile. It looks pretty darned tasty...and strong too!
