One day it's there.. the next day it's not.. I tried to put it back in the "my profile" and pointed to the proper file on my HD but it won't load it..

I have a small file on my HD that I want as my Avatar..can anyone tell me how to put it back ? P.S.. I actually work in IT but it's just not working the way I think it should.
