I like the business model and pricing at
Zediva. Tried it for the first time last night, but was horribly disappointed by the video quality. It is perhaps related to the relatively modest setup I used for viewing (dual core Atom 1.66GHz, Ubuntu, Chrome). I have 20Mbps cable internet, so I don't think it is the download speed. I will try with other browsers and other machines and report back. But if I can't get it to work well on that machine, it's probably a non-starter for me anyway.
We use the streaming far more than the physical disk rental, but the depth of the available disk titles would be very difficult to give up.
With Blockbuster and Hollywood video out of business, I'm not sure where I'd even go, locally. Red Box has pretty limited selection, but perhaps they will seize the opportunity.
