I have an Onkyo TXDS 787 receiver rated at 100 watts continuous and it says to use speakers rated at 6 ohms or higher. I would like to get the vp 150, though it is rated at 4 ohms and I may be better off going with the vp100. The entire system I would like to get is a pair of M60s (or possibly the m22ti), the VP150, a pair of QS8s and perhaps some m3tis for the rear surround channel. Will I be exceeding the power capacity of my receiver with this combo? If so would you please make a recommendation for me that doesn't include buying a power amp. I may have access to an older Denon power amp for the rear surrounds. The size of my room is 20ft L, 17 ft. W, 7 ft. H and it is very live sounding due to hardwood floors and two large windows that have no coverings. I do have a powered sub by velodyne rated down to 28 hz.
Will all of these speakers be able to be used in the large setting for Dolby Digital?
thanks,
David
