I'm just guessing, but I think most of the M50 owners on here are using them with AV receivers instead of stereo amps. Might be worth broadening the question to "what are you driving your 50s with and why ?". Probably some good answers there...

I already spouted my personal views in the last post -- don't worry about "bright" or "dull" amps, just get a "good" amp with some decent power and enjoy. My HK is supposed to be about as "un-bright" as they come but I have never heard such crisp, clear mids and highs in my life....
