Wow, I just got a real steal. EP-175 for $448 Canadian!! WOW. New in box! Pricing mistake for sure!

Anyway, how the heck do I set it up? My stereo has ONE subwoofer RCA/Coax out, and the sub has dual in.

If I recall Ian's advice correctly from a previous post, there is no need to get a splitter--just run a single chord into one of the two inputs on the ep175. I think if you got a splitter you would just have to turn the volume control to half the level.

Also, in what city and store did you get the ep175 for $448?

I got amazingly lucky.

I was in Dumoulin buying a Sony t.v. set (27" Vega for $899, including stand and $50 credit towards anything else in the store), when I noticed that they sell Axiom speakers, which is funny because no other high end audio store I've seen in Montreal sells Axiom.

Anyway, I saw the EP-125 on the test floor, so I asked if they had the EP-175, and in the computer it said they had ONE left, and that it was their last one, and that the EP-175 was "discontinued"..which sounded awfully strange.

Anyway, to make a long story short, he said he'd sell it at $499...so of course I said yes, $180 off is pretty good (All canadian dollars BTW)....so when he carts it out, it has a big yellow sticker on the side saying "$448", so I make him give me THAT price :)

$448.00 = $277.00 US btw.

On top of that, I noticed that a bunch of Axioms were either mis-labelled, or something screwy was going on because they had the Axiom M40s listed for $640ish, and the yellow sticker said $550.00, so I'm confused. That's a steal as the M22Tis sell for $540.00

As well, they had an Axiom subwoofer that wasn't part of the Millenia line, but I couldn't figure out what it was.

Dumoulin, aka Audiotronic.ca, had the EP-175 going for $448 on their web-site prior to Christmas. M3s were only $298 (all prices CDN$). Prices have been boosted now. Bummer. EP175, now $648. M3 now $368. BTW, I purchased an EP175 more than two years ago for $600 including tax and an interconnect from a B&M dealer. Thought I got a pretty good deal at the time...Cheers.

DS.
