Just a couple more windows left and then I'm out-a-here. Rita is steaming towards my kneck of the woods and should be ashore Friday night. The wife and kids are heading out tomorrow and I'll follow on Friday, after securing the house. Unfortnately, I have to leave my Axioms and their Denon companions behind. Wish them luck.

Are hurricanes covered under warranty?

Amen to that! If it helps, I've printed out a picture of Hurricane Rita, put it up on my corkboard, and have been stabbing it with push pins (since I don't have darts at work).

From our family to yours, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
You are doing the right thing by not trying to ride this out.
Be safe

Depends on your coverage, because we live close to the coast here in Florida we are required to carry a windstorm policy in addition to our flood and homeowners insurance. Our windstorm alone doubled from $1700 to $3400 this past year thanks to the hurricanes that hit us last fall.

Main thing is for you and your family to be safe and take cover, wishing you all the best of luck!

Hey everyone. Just want to say thanks for all the kind words and prayers. The wife and kids will be leaving in the morning and I'll follow them once I finish with the plywood. We have been ordered out of the city by 7pm Thursday. I'm hoping to have finished by then and be on my merry way to San Antonio, which should also get pounded with heavy thunderstorms and wind. Will try and post again before leaving.

Thanks again, especially for the dart throwing. Maybe a bullseye will deflate it somewhat.

Hey brother. I'm right behind ya. It's 2:30 am and we're finishing up some last minute stuff and then we're out of here too. Also to SA!! Axioms, Denon and new Samsung DLP have been moved upstairs into the hallway. About the safest place unless the roof or walls go and then it doesn't matter anyway. Take care and blessing and protection on you and your family.

Hey all. Fortunately for us, Rita has taken a more northerly path which means we will only see high winds and some rain. Unfortunaltely for those living in or near Port Arthur and Houston, they will catch a direct hit.

Good luck and you will be in my family's thoughts a prayers.
