Hey gang,

I would like to extend my appreciation to Axiom as well as the dedicated members of this board. I've spent a lot of time lurking here and have learned a lot about audio and video equipment. I have pairs of M22s and M40s and love the sound from both sets. I just purchased the VP150 and two QS8s and I can't wait to hook them up with my M22s and STF-2 sub.

I began researching speakers at the box stores about two years ago and just wasn't finding the sound I was looking for. Everything seemed tweaked to kick out bass at all costs and the sound wasn't clean or balanced to my ears. Then I visited some high-end shops and auditioned speakers like Energy, etc. that sold me until I checked the tags. Now I'm by no means a sophisticated audiophile but I've been around the block so to speak and by this point heard a lot of speakers at all price points. Luckily I stumbled upon this website and found the product line I was looking for. I'm not suggesting that Axiom is a cost/performance compromise. There is no question that Axiom's speakers are priced well below their formidable competitors. How they perform is I guess up to the individual listener, but I think the professional praise and awards and customer loyalty speaks volumes for the Axiom products. With Axiom you can get in the door around $300 and move up all the way to a system that produces the same clean, balanced sound while shaking the enamel off your teeth. My speakers are fabulous and I haven't heard anything else that sounds better to my ears. Great products, great customer service, great message board. I salute you all!

P.S. Next step is a TV - more research. Perhaps another day or another year...I'm exhausted.

Or.....

not.

Since you don't exactly have a huge potential for gaining members.

It doesn't matter. So what if there was an M40... diaspora ? Axiom sold a lot of 40s over the years. They will all eventually come back to hardcore M40 fans, and then we will take over the world.

Yeah,...we know.....

...they probably sold more M40s to happy owners than they sold of the still current.......

But, hey; coltrane!! We're glad you're here and are enjoying your speakers!! Yup; most all of us have similar stories about Axiom speakers and the Axiom forum and are really glad to have you involved

Keep on postin'!!!
Rich.

Thanks for your replies. What's with the jacket - an inside joke?

The M40s are great, but so are the M22s. I have M3s coming today and I'm sure I'll like them too. Years of listening to music too loud keep me from doing so now so I haven't felt the need to step up to 60s or 80s yet (Axiom tells me my 22s + sub are similar to the 60s) but I'm sure I'll justify the purchase at some point. For all you engaging in friendly jousting about which speakers are better let me offer you my take. Yes my two setups sound a bit different. It could be the room, or the speakers, but probably both. I like the variety. I like listening to my music (jazz...surprise) on both systems - it's like hearing the same group at a different venue, so to speak. It's all good.

Maybe I'm here to serve as a peacebroker. Why can't we all get along?

Nope

All of the other M40 owners have a long standing tradition of collectively pitching in for a brand new leather jacket with your name and an M40 emblazoned on the front to all new M40 owners. It's a really neat looking jacket...ask St. Pat Guy (Sean) about it, he's the one who usually hands out the jackets.

BTW, welcome and congrats with your new purchase!

Of course, the M60 jacket is MUCH nicer than the M40 jacket, although neither has as many pockets as the M80 version.

Coltrane, Rick is a well-known chain-yanker (among other things)

Thanks for the nice comments, and please lend your experiences and expertise to the collective wisdom.

Thanks for the heads up. I spent time around construction sites as a kid and was asked to fetch board stretchers and the like so I smelled a setup. One of these days I'm sure someone here will get me to take the bait.
