Hi,
I would like opinions. I currently have 4 M3s and a VP100 center. I am thinking of moving two of the M3s to the bedroom (for stereo). Would you replace the two fronts with M22s or the two rears with QS4s???
Thanks!

I suppose that depends on a couple of things.
What do you want to do with the 4 speaker system? Home theatre mostly?
and
How much do you like the M3s for sound?
Are you looking for a slightly different sound produced by the M22s?

I posted this elsewhere today but here it is again. An old post where i looked at M22s vs QSx as surround speakers. Maybe it will help.

Chesseroo,

I am not looking at using the M22s for surround. I would either upgrade the FRONTS to M22s, or the REARS to QS4s.

Usage is TV 45%, movies 35%, music 20%

You have a couple of options. If you buy a pair of M22ti's to replace your mains, there will be a considerable change in sound. The M22ti's are more detailed and "brighter" in the highs. (I personally prefer that sound, but many people like the more "laid back" sound of the M3's.)

Or like you also mentioned, if you keep the M3's up front, because you want to retain that same "laid back" M3 sound, you could get a couple of QS's for surrounds. This will disperse your surround effects more, and give you a more enveloping sound, much less direct sounding then the M3's you are using as surrounds now.

Since you say you use your setup for 80% TV/Movies, I'd opt to keep the M3's up front and upgrade your surrounds to a pair of QS4's.

jackme,
I think you misunderstood what i was getting at.
If you buy M22s for your fronts, i was assuming you were going to put the second pair of M3s in the rear as surround speakers.
Hence my post to the comparison of direct speakers as surrounds in the back vs. the QSx series.
If you like the sound of the M3s, then buy the QSx surrounds.
If you are a looking for a slightly more detailed sound up front then changing the M3s for M22s should be your preference.
