I got my wife 2 tickets to see him in boston for our anniversary (NYC sold out in like 10 minutes). and was just wondering if he was still good live?

I saw him a few years ago back here in the frigid midwest, it was very good, and met all of my expectations...it should be awesome man, especially since it is Billy Joel..

In my opinion he still has it. He's even got a new boxset coming out.

i think he was in a rehab here in ct within the past year or two,so if his program was a success,he probably wont be as good as he was before

With all due respect, but a comment like that is not entirely true and isn't always the case.

As a musician myself, I find it somewhat offensive. I in my 27 years of playing, have never touched illegal drugs, nor have I ever had any kind of a drinking problem. I have known and worked with many musicians who have had their battles with various addictions. Many of which whom lost their lives to it, and many who have over come them.

Many of the ones who were able to beat their addictions did not have their preformance suffer as a result of it. If anything it improved it.

Now granted that isn't always the case and that much is true, but the notion that one is only good, or not as good as they were, if/when high or intoxicated is just bull$hit.

I do respect your opinion, but your remarks are not entirely true.

I agree, I don't see how that statement could have been taken as a joke, it was pretty much straight to the point. A lot of famous people have issues, just like us everyday folks. I would not put to much faith in what you hear on Inside Edition and other news broadcasts.

Hmmph. I saw Aerosmith in the early (drug-addled) 80s, and then again some time around 1990 during their clean-and-sober, triumphant return to glory.

Both shows were easily the two worst concerts I've ever attended.

My apologies rcvecc. I didn't read that as a joke, but some of my posts have been misread too. It's cool, no grudges on my part.
