I made a trip to the place where we bought our TV to get some tips on laying the cable for our room and I'll be darned if all of my cabling problems are now a thing of the past.

The fellas gave me a 1000' roll of this and told me to cut all of my runs to the TV and the front projector...seven runs of cable (to be safe) to each place for coax. Bring all of my cuts and the rest of the spool back, they'll then install all of the connects and put the wall plates together and charge accordingly. The cable itself is 20 cents a ft. Also, the guy said whenever it's all ran he'll drop by and take a look to see if things look right. Can't beat that deal!

I also took a look at this baby ... MX119 ... All I can say is that this is one very nice unit.

Sometimes it's good to deal with the local shops, they ain't all bad.

It's nice when you have a local shop that believes in great CS.That will insure repeat costumers.

That Mac unit sure looks, and I'm sure sounds, sweeeeeeeeeeet. You need to buy that.

Kinda like the kid the who while shopping with with dad saw a pair of $100 sneaks in the store...

Kid: "Dad, I really need these sneakers!"

Dad: "No, you want these sneakers. What you NEED is the extra 60 dollars to buy these sneakers."

LOL...After you guys talked me into all of this Axiom gear I do believe my 19 year old son and my 40 something year old wife is probably more worried about me than I am of them!

BTW, that Mac unit is a very sweet piece of equipment.

Rick, the only thing that I notice is that the shielding is 60% coverage aluminum, rather than the 95% copper which is usually suggested for best interference rejection. It should be fine in most cases, though.

John I am going to run the cables through UL PVC electrical conduit, will this provide any additional shielding?

Upon speaking with the installers at the A/V dealer today they did tell me the above cable is what they use for all high-end, mid and budget HT installations. For absolute assurance *should* I be considering a 95% copper shielded cable as opposed to this cable?

Rick, metal is required to provide shielding, so PVC has no effect in that area. Apparently their experience has been that it caused no problem, but both as to percentage of coverage and conductivity the copper is better, and some suppliers offer it at a very reasonable price. This Blue Jeans article touches on the point, but again, it might not be significant.
