Biggest thing I have ever bought for myself by far...
Dear Duane Reed,
Thank you for purchasing at AxiomAudio.com; we hope you will enjoy our products for years to come. Your transaction number for this purchase is: ********.
You purchased the following items:
1 VP150 Center in Boston Cherry finish for 385.00 USD
1 EP500 Powered Subwoofer in Boston Cherry finish for 1,150.00 USD
1 Pair Millennia M80ti Towers in Boston Cherry finish for 1,240.00 USD
1 Pair QS8 Surrounds in Boston Cherry finish for 500.00 USD
Now comes the worst part...waiting for them to arrive.
My GF is going to want to kill me as I obsessively check the tracking every 5 minutes .

Thanks I'll be sure and post up some pictures. You can all laugh at the smallish room I'm putting all that power in .
I just sent my GF an E-mail entitled "Speakers so loud they blow women's clothes off" with just a picture of the system and in big letters "THEY ARE COMING..."

Excellent, Duane!
When I purchased my system a year ago, someone else described the experience as it being "like a kid at Christmas" and they were exactly right!
You're going to be thrilled with that system!

Yup,...no question; Waiting is a Primary Bummer!!!!
But, and this is important: You are getting all your speakers at one time!!
Many of us ordered our systems one or two peices at a time and went thru the "Nose on the Window Glass" ordeal more times over the years than is tolerated by the average human psyche.
Congratulstions for having the foresight and ability to buy your speakers, and your sanity, all at one time!!
The wait will still seem interminable though!
Rich.

Where can you buy one of those birds. As a kid we had one, but I haven't seen one around for some time. I bet my kids would think it was neat, they've never seen such a device.
Congrats on the system! It's a great one, you'll love it.

Congrats on the Axioms... You will love them.
I came home from work one day and our 600 was sitting right there by the front door step. I pulled onto the drive and the first thing that crossed my mind whenever I saw it was 'Did they ship us two of 'em in one box?!' Fortunately we have a ranch style house and I also have a snazzy little hand cart and it just sooo happened to be the very first item staring me down whenever I opened the garage door...so my move wasn't too bad.
Good thing my wife wasn't home whenever they delivered it, I may still be trying to locate that 'misplaced' 600 in some unobscured Area 51 FedEx warehouse.
I couldn't imagine trying to lug a 600 either down or up a flight of stairs, man that has to be a burden.

Terrific speakers, Duane, and the 3806 is a superb receiver that you'll be able to experiment with a lot later using the the auto setup and Odyssey MultEQ.

Picked up a Denon 3806, so far I'm very happy with what I have seen but I haven't done a whole lot with it since the only speakers I have here now are trash.
The international tracking doesn't show a delivery date estimate. I wonder if that will update since I have to plan to have the day off.

This morning Fedex show 12/8 by 4:30 as delivery. My Fedex guy told me when he delivered mine that he liked to get the heavy packages out early in the day. Mine arrived before lunch.

Nope, the FedEx International service that Axiom uses is 3 days to the US. You'll come to find that Axiom has fantastic customer service all the way around, starting with the fast shipping

I'm sitting in my office listening to every car go by and jumping up to the window every time it sounds even remotely like a FedEx Truck ...
DHL just pulled up and I almost went jumping out the window to meet him till i realized it wasn't FedEx.

Well the first thing I did was check everything over for any damage from shipping.
And while I don't think it was from shipping I did find a tweeter was "dented" on one of my QS8's =(.

Ok here is a pick of the initial setup. I'm sure I'll be moving things around and I definately have to go buy a new TV cabinet. (The rest of my place is all dark wood it's the last hold out. Besides it's starting to buckle LOL).
So far they sound great. I've done some inital level matching and setup on the receiver but that's about it. I've played all kinds of music and a few DVDs and I'm loving them so far. I tried really hard to play some "harsh" stuff since some people seem to think it's a problem with Axioms but I was unable to find anything so far. I did find a few badly mastered songs though .
Again over all they sound awesome, even MP3's sound pretty damn good as long as they were ripped at high quality. I'll do some more testing this weekend and post some more.

Looks great buddy. Try spacing out those 80's a little more if you can, it'll help improve the imaging/soundstage. Looking really good though my friend. Now crank that mother UP!!!

I agree with Sutter. Space those guys out a bit more if you can.
Don't worry about the TV cabinet. This hobby is about building in stages. For most of us it is too expensive to do all at once!

Unfortunately with my space if I move that left 80 any more to the left it will be pointing in to my sectional couch. That and it will severely limit the walkway between the couch and the speaker. Here are some pics to illustrate what I'm talking about.
If i move the whole rig any more to the right the sweet spot will be the end of the couch .
So I think I may be stuck with them where they are (5ft apart) till I move. (Possibly Feb)

I guess it's not so bad as long as you don't sit too far away. We should all be so lucky to have ideal audio rooms.
Those shots really show how deep those M80s are. (It looks like I'm going to echo everything Sutter says in this thread )

Unfortunately with my space if I move that left 80 any more to the left it will be pointing in to my sectional couch.
So, firing a speaker straight into a couch is a bad thing? I had just assumed my speakers suck....

You know Mark, I'm thinking you *may* want to move that left QS8 over a little ways. If you by some chance lose your grip and slip you could possibly bump your head on the QS8 and strain or even break your neck. Now we wouldn't want that to happen now ... would we?
Oh, also remember to lift with your knees and not your back.

Well I'm having a problem =(. My EP500 seems to cut in and out especially at higher volumes. I tried switching the cable and no luck but I did notice the coaxial input seems really lose as compared to the ouput. I can move it around with my finger and if I jiggle the cable it seems to make the sound cut in and out. I'm calling Axiom now to see if there is soemthing I can do.

Everything should be a nice tight fit. You might have a broken connection. Axiom CS will help!

Well I talked to Joe over at Axiom and he said to E-mail my information and he would send me a new amp on monday. I gather that these physical problems are rare for them must be a fluke that I got 2 =(.
As far as the customer service however they have proven themselves beyond a doubt the best company I have dealt with bar none.

Yes, sorry to hear you have had 2 issues. Great troubleshooting on the sub. It would make sense the higher volumes cause the loose connection to be unstable.
When are you getting your replacement tweeter for the QS8?

The tweeter shipped today. So I'm guessing tuesday and hopefully wednesday on the 500 amp. Going to tell people not to come check it out till I get the sub fixed at least I think . Not the same HT experience to show off with out the rumble.

Replacement tweeter came in today for the QS8 =).
Haven't heard anything yet on the 500 amp. Guess I'll call them tommorow morning. I sent some E-mails but didn't get a response.
On a side note I watched Black Hawk Down last night and it was like seeing it for the first time. It sounded amazing on the system my girlfriend just kept looking at me saying WOW!

Heard from Noreen today and my replacement 500 amp will ship out today =).
Can't wait to hear my system at its full potential. So far I can't imagine ever sending these back.
I borrowed a friend's Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD and was blown away...then I realized it had defaulted to PCM...Switched to DTS and was blown away yet again!
I have War of the worlds (never seen it) sitting here just waiting for the arrival of the 500 amp.
On a side note I have a few times found some parts of songs that bring out what people probably consider harsh or bright about these speakers. It comes out very rarely and only on specific songs. So far I can easily attribute it to the recording because I have put on music that is very harsh or bright to begin with and not experienced anything but clean transparent sound. I listen to everything from Vivaldi, Marshall Tucker, 2 Pac, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc. So I have definitely run them through the gamut musically. I haven't done a whole lot of HT watching yet because I really want the sub in place before I form any opinions
Anyways loving them so far.

When I had a particularly nasty woman skip town with another man and take all my stuff with her (Including my HT equipment) I think the only thing that kept me sane was "This old cowboy" by marshall tucker .

There's a song by them titled "Driving You Out Of My Mind" that I've always liked. As far as I know, it wasn't a real hugh hit, and it didn't get a whole lot of radio play, but I've always liked that song. It umm, well, brings back some memories to say the least. Great tune though.

I actually saw the Marshall Tucker band play as an opening act to the Almond Brothers Band in about 1974-5 at the Los Angeles Forum.
They were excellent BTW.

Got my replacement 500 amp yesterday and got it installed. The replacement amp came in a wood crate sealed with 4 inch wood screws.
Did some initial level matching and then popped in war of the worlds. Can't say I care for the movie much, but man did it show off the axioms . My girlfriend kept saying "It's shaking my !@# right through the couch!".
Also I listened very closely for any vibration or rattle in the 500 and couldn't find any.
