Bought my first system:

1 EP350 Powered Subwoofer in Black Oak for $670.00
1 Pair Millennia M60 Towers in Black Oak for $960.00
1 Pair QS8 Surrounds in Black Oak for $530.00
1 VP150 Center in Black Oak for $400.00

Pairing it with

Denon 2807
Sony SXRD 60'

beans and rice for the next two months, but I'll have my home theater much longer....

Anyone in the NOVA (Northern VA) area that wants to help on an install?

Nice job Yoyo, welcome! That's a mighty fine system, it should do you good and don't forget to calibrate.

I'm sure I'll spend many days / nights calibrating. I know there's a lot of info in the website and on the web in general. I'll post pictures of the room and a review.

How long is shipping usually?

Axioms shipping is pretty fast. I got mine in Illinois in 3 days.

Btw congrats on the new toys.

Three shipments over three years, three days each.

Yup!

But each three day period felt like the cumulative nine days.

That's similar to the HT that I have. I think that you will really like it.

I'm in Leesburg, VA. If I get done taking care of a leaky dishwasher and getting my downstairs floor ready for a new laminate installation, I'll let you know.

Congrats!

Mine are due the last week of May. Everyone keeps telling me that the factory outlet ships earlier than the projections so soon my nose will be pasted to the window looking for that little brown truck.

Thanks. I appreciate any help. I'll send you a private message, probably won't consider setup until next weekend or the weekend after.

Where do you go for reasonable cables in the area?

I know where NOT to go for a good cable! Motorola!!

Huh?

Yeah, darn cable from the wal-wart to my Wifes cell phone, and then my phone, wouldn't supply elecjuicity enough to keep the phones powered during a pretty important phone call yesterday. Anyone know of a boutique shielded and armored, maybe silver, or extreemly long strand and annealed OFC copper, cell phone cable??!

No snake oil, please.

I thought that Motorola was the OEM for a lot of cell phone products? It is strange that their cord/ cable would not work.

Yeah, but I realized I inadvertantly added a clue to my delema in my request for a new cable: I see I added "Armored"!!

I've lost track of how many times either the Wifes' or my phone has gone flying when one of the kids running through the house has tangeled their feet in the cable while the phone(s) were charging!

But it's been a bunch!!

Interestingly; Both the cable and wal-wart seem somewhat less robust that our older Nokia chargers and cables.

Hmmmmmmmm..........I wonder........nah.

I'm not sure that I quite understand what you mean by "armored?" The "armored" cables that I have seen have been for a military application. I really don't think that you would want something like that.

Awesome choices and setup! I am about ready to buy a similiar setup...but with the EP500 as my basement needs a bit more boom since it's so open. I also have a Sony 60" and am happy with it.

My only downfall in my setup, I see, is my Pioneer VSX-D509s receiver. It's a bit old but still gets the job done. I'm waiting on the new specs to pan out with blu-ray and HD-DVD as tech changes so rapidly...as always.

So...did you go factory outlet or pull the trigger on the main purchase? Those of you that have went factory outlet on the EP350 or EP500...does it look fine...or come with a too glaring of flaws? That's my main concern. I guess the other speakers don't bug me as much...just the sub...since it's close to a grand for it.

I did not go factory. Some of the lead times were 12 weeks, too long to wait.

Good idea to wait until the HDDVD sorts itself out.

Everything I've seen from the factory outlet looks as good as new. If you don't mind the wait, thats the way to go.

I purchased the second EP600 from the FO and I can't not see any differance between the pair., so if you want to save some money, I recommend going with the FO.

I just scored my first Axiom setup to replace the extremely weak Klipsch Promedia 5.1 set I did have (with a Polk 350 sub). Here's what I just pulled the trigger on:

M60's
QS8's
VP150
EP500

All factory outlet with 3 week wait times...which seems decent enough for me for over $300 savings. Enough for me to have justified my Logitech 880 and the center channel stand/ceiling mounts for the speakers.

I'm excited...especially after auditioning several Paradigm and Energy setups. My friend's Axioms just blew away the Paradigm setup in my opinion. I thought the Paradigm sounded a bit muddy and the sub was not crisp...yet it could have been the store and the setup. The Paradigm's were nice...but for the money...the Axioms seemed better.

Speaking as one who is completely content using a Klipsch ProMedia 4.1 setup with his computer, if you've been using the ProMedias for your movie watching and music listening, you are going to be VERY PLEASED with the Axioms. Congrats on your new purchase.

Don't get me wrong...I still love Klipsch and they've treated me well over the years. I bought the Promedia set 6 years ago for around $600. In addition, since then, I personally own a set of Promedia 2.1's for my computer as well. It's just sad when your same home theater speakers are on your computer. I plan on keeping the old speakers and setting them up on my PC for surround sound fun.

I'm excited...just surfing now buying a couple Omnimounts for the surrounds and a center channel omnimount shelf. Buy.com shows the cheapest price for all of it so far.

Do you mind me asking which model Motorola's you have and who your cell provider is? I can probably answer your question. Oh, and car chargers wreck havoc on your battery (cell phone, not sure about the car itself) and should only be used if you really need the phone.

Funny!! Iguess I broke mine today. Just took deliver of M80 v2's. Been listening since around 12 noon. Didn't take long for me to realize that I must get a 5.1 full compliment of these. As soon as I sell these other boxes I'm replacing with these, I'll be in the market for the VP 150 center and QS8 surrounds.
