Crafstman has a pretty good warranty, I would let them try and fix it, could be something simple.

Let 'em fix it - they will. If it breaks again quickly, raise the replacement stink.

I'd insist on a new one.

I have a Craftsman riding mower (5 years old). Once I ran over some rough terrain with it, and the transmission failed. Turned out one of the sticks hit something and it was a simple fix for the technician. It's done fine ever since.

I'm not a gearhead by any means (that's the wife), but maybe yours can be fixed just as easily. If it is a recurring problem, then seek a replacement.

First, I would not say crapsman....then, I would talk to the Sears store where you bought it.

Sears has a "satisfaction guaranteed" policy, and it may also say what to do in your mower papers.

I, just this weekend, looked at the "limited edition" gold
4500 model.

I agree, Craftsman makes some of the better lawn and garden tractors around. I have the GT5000 and had an electrical problem, I called the warranty service, they were out the next day and fixed the problem in 5 minutes.

well,i called sears and decided to let them have a look at the mower at my house before i just returned it.they told me the first saturday appt they had open would be june 4th,im not waiting a month for something thats defective out of the box
so i told them ill just bring it in for a refund and asked them to have the cash ready and they wanted to charge a 15% restocking fee, when i asked them if putting defective merchandise back in stock is usually what they do,there was an uncomfortable silence ,then they changed their tune and told me to come in for an exchange.hopefully this one is built well.this is the first purchase i made from sears that made me get upset, any problems in the past were handled to my complete satisfaction without questioning

happy mowing

oh yeah, homedad, you want to keep up with the jonses ill get the 5001 sucker...................................................when they make one

Wow, I've never heard of service so bad at Sears.
