Just won an auction on eBay and I'll be riding this to work next week.

I purchased it on eBay from a guy who lives here in Rowlett, Tx
I'll be picking it up on Monday.
Just had to share.
Oh....... it is a Yamaha FZ6

That second shot makes it look like an insect. May we now call you the Blue Mantis?

Congrats on your buy.

I don't own one, or a chainsaw, or a trampoline. I'm just an accident waiting to happen on any of these.

Max output of 98HP! Yikes. You're gonna kill yourself if you are not careful.

That is why I will never win the lottery, God knows that I would buy some sickly fast sports car and turn into road-jam somewhere, so I'll never get a fast car. Bummer.

Nice looking bike though. I like the looks with the upgraded parts (had to search eBay's completed auctions, but it was easy to find).

Enjoy yourself!

Wow...very nice bike! Of course though, I'm curious as to what your insurance is going to cost. I'm going to guess for minimum liabilty, it'll be around $200-300. Add another $400-$500 for full coverage with a $500 deductible.

Anyway, enjoy and be a safe and defensive driver!

Crap...... I just bought a nice cape to match the bike yesterday. I guess I'll have to return it (I too forgot about the Incredibles).
I'll keep the helment and the tights though.

Insurance!? What is the deal with that.
I found a good deal but I cant believe how much it varys.
For full coverage I've priced it from 65.00 per month to 265.00 per month.
For me, State Farm has the best deal. Geico and Progressive had the worst.

I see you took my suggestion and went with "Blue" after all! (And you hinted that I wasn't being helpful!) Nice Bike Bray!

Because you are. Unless you attach an orange flag on a long pole to your bike, and get a sidecar for each side. But at that point you're pretty much riding a tricycle.

Oh yeah...it varies a lot! State Farm rates seem like the best here in Iowa as well. I mostly sell Progressive and I agree it's high. When kids (well, people under 25) call me for quotes for full coverage on a crotch rocket, I don't even bother with it. I'm always telling them it's going to be around $5000. The highest we've ever quoted was around $10,000 with Progressive! The guy had a few tickets and an accident on his driving record, but geez! Of course a lot of people who buy crotch rockets are reckless with them. In fact, a couple years ago, I sold a guy a policy, and when I was explaining the coverages to him, I asked if he wanted medical. He said that he wasn't worried about it because if he ever crashed, he was probably going to die anyway. Well, unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. I'm not sure of the details, but his bike was found in some shrubs and his body about 12 ft. away from it. It still freaks me out thinking about it.

Only 12 feet? (and that's not a sarcastic question) When I was in college, my friend was got in a bicycle accident -- someone opened a car door in front of him -- and he ended up flying quite a ways before finally hitting the pavement.

30 ft, as I recall... and he was a very fast rider. Probably was up around 25 or 30 mph when he hit.

Bray,

Looks like that you and your new toy need a road trip to break each other in...Drive down to Austin on a weekend on your new bike and I'll buy you lunch or dinner...

Great looking ride...my son would love to have one of those...but as a good Dad, he will never see one until he leaves the house...

Serious about the offer though...

I saved a $1000 dollars a year doing one of those internet insurance comparisons, I do it every time my rates go up, have gone from Mercury, to State Farm and now Hartford, may be worth a shot.

Well, I could be off a bit, but he was found (along with the bike) in some shrubs along side the road. The shrubs possibly stopped him from being thrown further.

Anyway, all of a sudden, I feel terrible talking about all this! I don't want to freak out Bray with these stories or take the glory out of his new ride!

Hmmm, i've got that beat by nearly a factor of 10....part of the reason i haven't posted in quite some time is a move (and without computer access for about 2 weeks) but also spent some time in the hospital - ok now though. To make a long story short, I was a passenger in the box of a truck travelling gravel roads, truck hit a washout, truck stopped, i kept going. One of the firemen that responded to the accident paced it out and they've determined it's at least 100ft, probably closer to 120ft. Now if i had just been wearing a cape at the time it would have been an impressive site!

well surprising little damage to the body, split the lip open (13 stitches) cut up the hand (3 stitches)...major road rash on hands/face/knees (was smart and was wearing shorts and sandals at the time). Biggest problem is kind of messed up some of the muscles down my back. It gets very stiff (my back Peter, nice try ) if i am stuck in one spot for too long. I'm sure it will require some extended physio work to get it back into shape but it will slow me down for baseball and golf season this summer. It was supposed to be the summer of Scott.

I have moved back to Brandon, Bren. They downsized our regional office in Saskatoon and are keeping only one other in Regina - to compliment head office in the Richardson building. I'm working @ the grain elevator @ Nesbitt, corner of PTHs 2 & 10, if you were ever in the neighbourhood and so inclined to stop by for a visit.

Not often "just in the neighbourhood" out that far west... but if you had some time on a weekend sometime, I'd pack a lunch and head out.

You arent freaking me out. I'm the last of 5 kids and at one point or another all of us had bikes. I've seen all of my brothers plus my dad torn up from crashes and I totally realize it isnt the safest form of transportation.
I'll do my very best to be careful.

I'm gonna take you up on that invite very soon.

And for all you U.S. residents.........
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!
Be safe.

It is a very comfortable bike. Being what "they" call a naked sports bike, the seating position is a lot more upright instead of leaning forward as with a standard or super sport bike ie. "crotch rocket". But not laid back like a cruiser.
I am about to walk out the door to go to my motorcycle safety course.
8 hours today and 8 hours tomorrow.

Is that anything like a naked mole rat?
