I'v been A big Star Wars fan and had seen A New Hope and Empire Stikes Back in theater back in early 1980's. I think it was the first time movie theaters ever played the original then the sequiel right after. I cant remember any other movies presented like that but man what a impact it made on me! I was 8 and hooked on Star Wars!

So now all episodes are completed and what an ending! I must say that episode 3 was one the best movies ever!

I'm a little sad that the seris is completed and that no future Star wars movies are in the making. But... what if they or G.L remade the orginal 3 movies? Yes I know that sound's dumb because the original 3 are classics and every one knows how they start and end. But theres a whole new generation of kids that would jump at a new movie even if it was a remake of an original.

What do think? Could remakes sell? Could it be done?

I've read online that a TV Series may be in the making at some point. I find it hard to believe they would ever re-make Star Wars with different actors, at least not in my lifetime.

Oh, God no. The world doesn't need another GL revision.

Just my opinion, though.

I agree with Randy and Peter: Star Wars is/was such a monumental movie that a remake should be out of the question. Hopefully it will be left alone as far as the cinema goes. I could support a TV show that expands on the movie over the course of a season or two...

Sadly, the continuing drop in movie attendance has not seemed to get the studios to offer us higher quality movies to get us all back to the theater. If anything, it seems we get more remakes, whether it is of a movie that doesn't need remaking (Pink Panther) or a TV show that I haven't cared about in 20 years (Dukes of Hazzard). I guess they're thinking they'll sell to the teenagers who don't know who Peter Sellers was.

I feel a poll coming on regarding movie attendance...

O.K. I'm not a big Star Wars fan. I did enjoy the very first movie back in the seventies. Probably saw it 5 times. Then I saw the next 2 on DVD just a couple years ago. They were very cheesy. I could actually warrant remakes of all three. A more serious version. An actual star War. There is better acting out there now. And with a director that is not out of his mind would be good. I've not seen the second three movies, but from what I hear I'm not missing much.
I vote for a remake!!

Rapmon what are you waiting for? 1 and 2 are ok but 3rd is pefect! Lots of action and not a bad story! I must have watched part 3, 50 times with my kids ! Its a big screen movie with great surround sound! At least watch the 3rd one. And whats wrong with the EmpireStrikesBack? That was a cold dark movie that left a lasting impression on how all (good vs evil) movies should be made.

I've tried to be good, really, because some people get so riled whenever I talk about the new trilogy, but gotta do it:

I submit, for your amusement, Episode 3: The Abridged Script.

If you've not seen Ep3 (and intend to) this is pretty much all spoiler, so you shouldn't listen to it. If you have, well, it pretty much speaks for itself. And it's pretty accurate, as far as I'm concerned.

And one more thing: How the hell is Obi-Wan "I cut people in half when I'm pissed and leave my best friend burned and dying!" not a Sith, or at least a Dark Jedi? If Luke had to resist getting in a legitimate fight to save his own skin, not to mention not killing the Emperor, in order not to be turned, how does Obi-Wan get away with this?

I agree, episodes 4-6 were great, maybe he is talking about 1 and 2. Many people did not like them as well as the original episodes. I agree III is pretty cool. I think they could have done a little better job with the LFE though. By the way, I was also in line when Star Wars A New Hope hit the theaters, seems like yesterday...

Episode 3: The Abridged Script

That was genious... I still love the org 3 movies... the new 3 were just not that great, Ep 1 and 2 were pretty terrible and Ep 3 was good from an action standpoint but still had all the acting and script flaws of the 2 previous. Granted I can't sit here and say Ep 4/5/6 were perfect but they had something about them that these new ones didn't. I cared about the characters like Luke, Han, Leia but I certainly didn't give a rats about Anakin or the Chancellor.

Well, it doesn't help when your main characters are evil. Really, even if the scripts had been amazing and the acting, well, better than it was, you'd still have a hard time connecting with those two.
