Seems like everyone is getting into the retro car look. I know that this was discussed a little while back with a post about the upcoming Transformers flick.

Anyway, I have seen little models of another "retro" car for a few months now, but I finally found a photo of the actual car so I thought I would post it.

2006 Lamborghini Miura

I found a link to a write up about some of the recent "retro" offerings and shows photos of now vs. then.

Retro Article

It doesn't include future models or complete concepts, but I figured that it would eliminate a lot of vehicles.

Something tells me after just buying my new audio system that the wife isn't going to let me break into the savings account for that Miura.

Very nice Miura.

I have to admit, I'm part of the neo retro mix. Just got a 2007 FJ Cruiser. LOVE it.

What always amazes me about these articles is that they act like it's a new trend. I mean, come on, the Beetle's been around for about a decade now. And Ford's been trying (generally poorly) to capitalize on it for a long time, too. Remember when the 4th gen Mustangs were supposed to be retro?

I like those FJ Cruisers, Cesar. I think we may be in the minority, though. Good or bad, the car exhibits a lot of character IMO--something most new cars lack. Take this from the guy who used to drive a beat up old VW. Talk about character. . .

You are correct. Retro is nothing new, but before it was one vehicle every several years from different companies, but now there is a huge push at Dodge/Chrysler in particular, and others are offering more "retro" styles as well. There has definately been an increase in new model styles reflecting this trend over jsut the past couple of model years.

Hey, maybe if I keep my 1999 Ford Contour Sport (don't laugh) another 25 years, it will be the design of a "retro" model in 2041.... Naaa, probably not...

Of course, I have a Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. Don't laugh.

Yeah, I know. I've owned a lot of "cooler" cars in the past, but I just drive it to and from work. I refuse to fall into the "American" trap of paying a lot for a car, that ends up travelling 16 miles (total round trip) Monday - Friday only and just sits in a public parking lot all day.

No thanks.

Unless, of course, someone wants to GIVE me a nice car.

I AM playing the Powerball lottery this week. If I win the $170M, I'll be sure to share with all of my Axiom friends. (Don't hold your breath. I know I'm not.)
