It probably would work, but the sonos only puts out 50watts rated at 8ohms, so at low to moderate listening levels it might work. The 80's are 4ohm speakers and most people drive them with powerful AVR's or receivers. If your going to pay that much for audiophile speakers, you might want to invest in a receiver that will do the 80's justice. This is just my opinion. You would be better off getting some decent bookshelf speakers like the m3's or m22's possibly. Again 50watts for a sonos would be different than a Harman Kardon receiver rated at the same power.

Well I can report that it more that just works, it works terrifically. The amp in the ZP100's is no slouch and can easily power the 4 ohm M80s and plenty loud too.

The Sonos is a dream too. It totally changes the way I listen to music.

PR, welcome. Good to hear how you're enjoying your setup. The amount of power actually required in typical home use is often overestimated, especially with speakers such as the M80s which are a little above average in sensitivity.

So why did you ask if you already had an answer?

I could be he wanted to check to see if it would do any harm before he connected the 80s. Looks like no one had an answer for him so he just went ahead a found out for himself.

I didn't know and at the time of my posting I didn't have either the Sonos or the M80s - that's why I asked

Shipping from Sonos and Axiom only takes 1 day (both are amazing companies that way). I confirmed with Sonos that they can drive (1 pair only) of 4 ohm speakers.

I couldn't be more pleased with both the M80's and the Sonos.
