After being an Axiom fan since 1986, (I still have my AX2's) I just realized the M70 is missing from the current line up. There is an M50, M60 and an M80. Where is the M70????? Anybody know?

I beleive Axiom thought about developing some M70's, but I think they figured it would push all the M60 owners over the edge when they realized their speakers were now number 3

Worfzara:
Actually, in a thread on....... 4-17-04, (in the stereo forum) I did post about the possibility of a "M70" Axiom speaker, and what it would be configured like, etc.

Hey, we're still waiting for the M90 or M160. Or better yet the VP80. OR would it be the VP200?

Ian cut out the middle man and went straight to the final product. Why bother with an M70 after the M60 when you can have an M80? A better question might be, where is the M100 already?

Well, I guess that we get back to the question of how good is good enough?
I am very satisfied with my speaker system. Its quality is probably superior to my hearing ability. I may still get some seperate amps for the fronts and eventually get a new receiver, but I seriously doubt that I will change the speakers.
Of course, this is just one man's opinion.

Some veteran board members may recall that a few years ago there were rampant rumors about an experimental design for a new M70. Although it was highly confidential at the time, I feel justified in revealing the true facts now to clear up the mystery concerning the gap in the model numbering. The design was fairly far along and Ian sent me one for beta testing, as is shown here set up in my home. My view was that reproduction of the trombone was especially realistic but that there was definitely too much bass. It's unclear why it didn't enter into full production.
