If vertical orientation is not a problem under the TV, would a single M50 standing up be a better choice than a VP150 for a M80/QS8 surround setup?

To keep tonal balance, I'd buy another M80, if possible.

If not, you may want to consider an M60, which I have been told is very similar to the M80.

Yeah, it looks like it would only be another $100 to get an m60 for the center, so the question still stands, would this give me higher fidelity than a horizontal VP150?

Thanks for any advice.

bhull, you're my hero, man.

I'd add the caveat "depending upon placement". You know you need it to be vertical, but you'd also need enough spacing to the rear wall to accommodate the port.

Go for it. I double-dog dare ya.

I agree about the M50 as a good choice for a center.

I was just listening to my 80s in stereo mode and watched some of a dvd for a bit. An M80 behind a AT screen would be a dream come true.

Oh, ouch, I hadn't considered that

I guess if I wall mount the plasma with one of those that extends out from the wall, then it could work.

If I can pull it off, then it will be an m60 in the center. I mean the price is real close to the VP150, only $100 more. Aesthetics be damned.

BH, go with the M60 there if you have the room. As far as room for the rear port, 3-4" should be fine.
