Want to upgrade, but was wondering how others faired doing the upgrade. How much did it cost for the upgrade and how it went.

Second question is how my RX-V2500 will do with the 4 ohm speaker. My area is only 14 x 17 x 8'. So I should not have to push them much to get high volumes (although I do like to crank it up from time to time). What mono blocks would get me a good 300watts at the lowest price point possible?

Finally, did you think it was worth upgrading? Glad you did?

If you are still in the 30 day window, the cost of the upgrade is the difference in price only. Axiom will cover the shipping costs both ways.

You probably would have no issues driving the 4 ohm speakers with the yammy, but if you want more power there are mono blocks at Outlaw and a 2-channel at Emotiva.

The 80s have more drivers and produce a few more dBs. I upgraded from the 60s and was able to A/B the 60/80 for a day. The differences are subtle, but in my opinion the 80s sound better at low volume as well as high. YMMV.

Then the upgrade is full price!

I called and asked. Not quite fullprice, but I could buy another pair of M60s for nearly the same price. It's a definate no go.

That is why I always suggest getting the 80s to begin with rather than the 60s if there is any doubt whatsoever. You are far better off getting the 80s than having some sort of remorse getting the 60s later on.

You can sell your M60's on Audiogon for about $500-$700.

When I bought I was deciding between the M22 and the M60 and thought I was avoiding such a situation, but you know how upgraditis is. Never ending and relentless.

i agree with ratpack. the best way to avoid upgradeitis, is to buy the highest end, this way, you cannot upgrade
