I am hearing a popping noise from my cable box through my HT system. This noise sounds like the steel desktop balls clicking. This is the second box that I have heard this through. I returned the last one. There is no noise from any other source in my system. Has anyone else experienced this? My box is Scientific Atlanta model Explorer 3250 HD. I am a Comcast subscriber. I am also using a Slingbox device in the secondary output. As the cables included with the Slingbox were very low end, is it possible that there is not enough shielding on them? Could this be causing the popping noise? Any opinions are very much welcome. Watching television is nearly unbearable. Thanks.

I was also having a similar issue with my vp150 center popping after I paused TIVO. I had a phillips model cablebox, and Directv came out and replaced the box and the issue disappeared. I am not a big fan of your cable box manufacturer. I had a router made by them, and it locked up all the time until I replaced that with a motorola, and haven't had an issue since.
