Right now my m60s, vp150, and qs4s are running off a yamaha rx-v1400 receiver. I am considering getting the crown amp to run my m60s and I was wondering for a room thats about 12x11, is the amp worth it. The only reason I am considering this is because of the $120 rebate they have on the amp. Is the difference noticeable? In my experience a watt is a watt, as long as the amp is not clipping. Basically what i am asking is if you guys have made this change and recognized a noticeable difference.

Current and capacitance reserve is also important.

Yeah, but will Mr. tau=RC and Mr. i=c*dv/dt make a difference to my ears. I know it used to make a difference in taking measurements in my electronics labs, but labs didnt consider my ears.

OA, with those speakers in that size room, the 1400 most likely has more capacity than is being used. If so, the only benefit of the $120 rebate on the Crown would be that you'd waste $120 less than you would without the rebate. Requirements are decided by Dr.Ohm, et al, not by manufacturers' hype. There aren't any miracles in audio; unused capacity is simply that: unused.

Based on your room size I would also agree with John.
