Well, I'm sure many of you here already know, my old system (about 9-10 years old) has been slowly transforming - well on my budget it's been actually transforming rather quickly, and my wallet is not happy.

The latest addition is a Rotel RB-1070 (130x2) amp. This will power my M60 mains, and the RB-1075 (120x5) will now be dedicated to the center, surrounds and now rears.

To give you an idea of where I came from and where I'm going...

OLD

Onkyo TX-SV919thx receiver (sold)
Sony DVD player (died)
Snell Acoustics type K/II (mains) (moving to rear for now)
Phase Tech 1C center channel (for sale!)
Polk LS f/x (surrounds) still using them
Yamaha YST-60 subwoofer (sold)

NEW

Rotel RSP-1066 processor
Rotel RB-1075 120x5 amp
Rotel RB-1070 130x2 amp
Pioneer 656A DVD/DVD-A player
Axiom M60ti (mains)
Axiom VP150 (center)
Polk LS f/x (surrounds) to be replaced by QS8's when the wallet gets out of the I.C.U.
Hsu VTF-2 (subwoofer)
QS4 or M2ti (rears - haven't decided yet)

Wow...so far so good. Just a few more tweaks and I'll be done.

I'm pretty much settled on the QS8's for surrounds, but I don't know whether or not to get M2ti's or QS4's for the rear channels. The rears will be about 5'-6' behind me. How high should they be? Ear level, or above ear level like the surrounds? I've never had 7.1 before. I'm really looking forward to my first test at home with it.
