For me, I've had much better luck with FedEx versus DHL or UPS through the years. Oh wait, it was a FedEx employee down in the TN hub that ran over my ep500 replacement amp a few years ago.

I'm sure a few of you remember the post/pics of that mess. The wood crate and amp inside looked like a 747 ran over it....and then the nut put everything in a cardboard box and shipped it on its way. Talk about great turn around.

Anyway, I did have one response, can't tell who it was as it is top secret. Thanks to all the hi-jackers.

Well maybe I don't like FedEx now. I was informed today by Klaus that my special Odyssey mono amps were on the way FedEx and would arrive Friday. The problem with FedEx is that they won't leave stuff on my porch like UPS and DHL.

We don't live in town, but live on a private road with an association of nice homes on 2 acre lots. I won't be home and will be at work that day. I've always been able to call DHL or UPS and change the destination to "HOLD" for customer pickup. There is a major FedEx distribution facility right on my way home, but when I called the 800 (Go F'ex) they said sorry it is ground and there is no way they can change it. I used to pick up my Axiom stuff there back when Axiom used FedEx, now they use DHL.

I can't believe in this day and age of technology, GPS, etc. that they can't notify the destination sorting facility before it gets loaded on the truck to change it to HOLD for customer pickup, what a joke.

Yeah, that's pretty lame. I'm looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Odyssey amps.

Well, I was told since it was shipped Ground/Home Delivery they have to make one attempt at my house for a signature. After that, I might be able to contact the terminal to arrange for other pickup, otherwise, he will make another attempt on Saturday.

If I can't get Friday off, I may put a note on the door saying I was sorry I could not be home, but if he could call me I could meet him somewhere or maybe arrange a later time on Friday.

Randy I believe you can go to the station at any time and sign a waiver to have them leave packages at your door, that's what I did and now anytime I receive packages via FedEx they are left at the house ... should be the same policy regardless of your location, I would imagine.

I've personally not had any problem with FedEx in the past.

I haven't had any problems with any of them, but I work in the storeroom at a hospital, and one of the former DHL drivers is the only one who concerned me. He would zoom in and park like a maniac, and his leaving was the same. His driving was bad enough, but then he would throw the boxes out the back of his track, and sometimes we would even see him slam them on the dock, like he was trying to break them. The driver that replaced him is much better, but yeah, that one guy left an impression on all of us.

Actually there was a forum fellow who worked for fedex, though he hasn't posted in some time. If he has email notification of PMs still turned on, he may acknowledge receiving it.
His profile is here.
