Not sure you would want to lay down and m60 or 80, the designed horizontal pattern of the tweeter would then be vertical, probably not a good idea.

I don't see a problem with using a 22 as a center channel combined with a 60. You just don't want to mix brands. Are you using a screen, and if so how high off the ground, the 60's are pretty tall. If your using a tv, how would you be placing these in the center position?

If your using a seperate amp, you would by bypassing the receivers built in amp by using the pre outs on the receiver to the pre in on the amp. Why do you think you need an amp?

I've exhausted my powers of persuasion in the speaker collection dept. and anything less than an absolute steal is hard to swing.

Drew, the amp would be connected to the center channel pre-out. If budget is a concern, I was tempted to go with the M22's horizontally, tweeters out alignment, wired in parralel ( wiring one speaker to the other -/- and +/+ then to receiver) as mentioned earlier, but I quite enjoy them as mains in the bedroom.

I would be placing the M60's on each side of my TV, which would be around 41/2 feet apart. The mains would be around 12 feet apart, which is how the mains are now.

As for the amp, I just assumed I would need it! I'd be very happy to not have to purchase it, if you say it isnt necessary. How many watts would the m60's(as dual centers) be getting from my V2600(130Wx7)? Would it be sufficient? If it is I would be glad to hold off on that purchase. I just don't want to be skimping on the center channels.

Drew, the amount of watts that the M60s would draw in that use depends on the loudness of the material being played at a particular instant, the same as any other speakers. At a comfortably loud average level 1 watt, or a bit less, would be used; brief peaks would use much more of course, depending on how wide the dynamic range of the material being played was. As was said before, there's no good reason to assume a problem and spend money to solve it when it may never develop. Your 2600 is quite powerful as an amplifier.

drew,

I have 2 8ohm M2s hooked up in parallel on my RX-V659 Yammy, your 2600 will have no problems with the 4ohm load of the parallel M22s.

Will M60's also be a 4ohm load?

yes, dual M60s would also provide a 4ohm load. When wiring in parallel, the impedance is cut in half. So wiring 2 8ohm speakers together gives you 4 ohms.
