I just finished installing our new speakers.
About one and half years ago we purchased our first front PJ. Our walk-out basement on the finished side is 12x50x7 1/2= 4500 cu. ft. We have a pool table at one end and our HT at the other end. I bought the largest screen possible because our seating is 20 ft. from the screen because of factors that cannot be changed. I will admit now that we owned a Bose speaker system which fell far short of what we expected. Being able to clearly hear dialogue was our biggest problem.
For the last six months I had searched on the web for a new speaker system. Axiom was given great reviews on various audio/ HT sites. It seems we made the right choice.I hung our front three speakers using Axiom's ceiling brackets on our ceiling slightly forward of the screen(there is no room on the floor or walls for placing them). I tilted them down towards the main seating area. Our surrounds are mounted on the side walls, five feet from our seats, awesome! I placed the woofer in the right front corner and it justs clears the bottom of the screen by 1/2 inch. The first DVD I listened to was the "Broken Arrow" chapter in We Were Soldiers. With the woofer at half volume my wife said every dish and or object on the shelves upstairs was rattling and the first floor, floor, was vibrating immensely. The rifle fire in the surrounds was clear and awesome. The whole HT room shook. I had to turn it down to about 1/3rd volume. We are very pleased.

Hey Brian,

Nice to hear your enjoying your speakers! Have you calibrated your speakers and sub to be at the same SPL? This is normally done by listening to the receivers test tones or other tone CD and a Radio Shack SPL meter.

Also, hopefully you have the other sub controls set correctly and speaker settings in the receiver.

Randy
