Will this be a super bright combo? Also, don't receivers have an EQ that you can lower the treble end to even them out if they are really bright?

Kz, your use of the term "combo" implies that the amplifier in the 705 is somehow inherently defective, since the M60s alone are quite accurate. If you got this "brightness" notion from reading posts on some other forum, you should disregard it and keep in mind that much of the audio discussion on the internet is a quagmire of misinformation. The 705 amplifier, along with all other competently designed units, amplifies transparently without a hint of the substantial frequency response inaccuracy that would be necessary for it to give an audible coloration to the sound. Colorations won't be found there, but rather in the recorded material which is being played. The tone or EQ controls are to compensate for poor material, not an ineptly designed amplifier.

The 705, if you like its features and it fits your budget, should be excellent with the M60 or other Axiom speakers.

Axiom speakers are not bright, at least not in the sense that most people define. Like John said, receivers are not bright either, unless you introduce tone or DSP modes.

Im new to the forum but have been reading a ton of posts and thought I would add my 2 cents.

I bought the 705 and the M60s a few weeks ago and I do not have a single problem with the sound. I have pretty sensitive ears to highs, (if that is what bright is meaning) my daughters screaming "bottoms out" my ears sometimes =) But the speakers don't sound harsh at all. I won't get into a review on either component right now, but I could not be happier with them so far.

I am pretty sure the 705 lets you adjust the equalizer settings if you wanted to bypass the Audyssey settings. I have not looked into it too far though.

The only problem I guess I might have is getting the money together to finish up the 6.1 or 7.1 setup!
