Oh man! That is a killer looking room, Paul! I have a problem with the chairs, though--they look way too comfy! I'd be asleep in no time. My snoring may blend in with the sub. . .

Lovely.
But how do you change the volume and such when the closet doors are closed?
Or is that just a moot point?

The URC remote I have comes with a base that allows me to control up to 6 different components without needing line of sight. I believe it uses RF instead of IR, kind of like Xbox controlers.

That way I can keep the doors closed and control all the functions of the preamp, DVD player, etc.

Buy you are correct, usually once you set the volume at the beginning of the movie, you don't usually touch it again.

This is one the of best things I like about my room. When I am watching a movie, I don't get distracted by the blinking lights from the audio equipment. I just see and hear the movie on a 135" screen and awsome Axiom speakers!!!!

Yes that is a side affect of those chairs, usually the experience is enought to keep you awake, but that depends on the material being shown. Its Hard to fall asleep during Transformsers at elevated volumes, however, my wife once tried to make me watch Pride & Prejudice and I think I made it throught the first 18 minutes, then I was out, dreaming about fast cars, space ships, dinosaurs, and ...

I still haven't seen Pride and Prejudice, but Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson is one of my favorite movies ever. So while I would probably still fall asleep in those chairs, I may not be guaranteed to dream about fast cars, space ships, dinosaurs, and... Paul.

As this room is in the basement, the tray is actually the bulkhead for the cold air return, I told the framers that I didn't want a bulk head on one side of my HT room, he suggested making the bulk head in a U shape all the way around. I am glad he did, I really love the effect.

Thanks

Paul
