What would be better? Onkyo 805 with Emotiva LPA-1 or Onkyo 875(Much better video capabilities) and add an amp later when I have extra funds. Any help would be much appreciated. Been a while since I posted but am still putting together a system. Bought the projector and hd-dvd player. Next is the receiver and M60's with VP150.

How big is your room and how loud do you plan to listen? You may find that most AVR's alone will be adequate, unless you have a cavern like me.

KP, you're already assuming that the receiver won't be fully adequate; don't. As Randy pointed out, the receivers in the vast majority of cases will do the job. Get either the 805 or the 875, depending largely on if you want the Reon video processing in the 875, and you're set to enjoy for years and years.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.
