I was reading through some of Alan's tech articles and here is what I found under the 'ten tips to getting a big screen TV':

"you can get a pleasing-looking EDTV 42-inch widescreen flat-panel display from Panasonic for about $3,000."

Man, I am glad TV prices have come down since this articles was posted!

EDTV? That almost sounds like an Eddy Murphy sketch!

I remember when they were marketing 'enhanced definition TV's'
Almost as good as HD, and only a fraction of the cost- just $3,000 ;\)

I'll admit it. I was one of the first who bought one of those several years back. It now hangs in the master bedroom connected to a DVD player.

I remember drooling over the 60" plasmas in The Sony Store and I could have had one for a mere $15,000

Should look for a laser disc player to hook up to it.
