In my opinion, Shakira sounds like a man who is taking steroids to lighten his voice up a bit for his up and coming sex change operation. Then add a shakyness like she is holding a vibrat.....ing apparatus to her voice box.

Sorry if paints a dismal picture of her singing ability but it's the best way I can describe it.

A few of her more traditional Hispanic/Flamenco style stuff are catchy tunes but I would enjoy them more if someone else sang them.

She is good at shakin her stuff though. I expect her concert would have tons of dance appeal.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I've never heard her and only barely seen her (I'm getting old!), but if you are correct, Murph, and I suspect you are, then she could be one of the poster children for everything that is wrong with the music industry today. Too much emphasis on the visuals and the production, and too much creating/packaging a pop star rather than finding the true talent that stands on its own.

Geez, I sound like Grampa Simpson. "Back in my day, we called Shelbyville Ogdenville ..."

Really?? To me Shakira is kinda average looking. I'll say that about 20% of the girls in my HS class were better looking than her.
...Diane Krall is very easy on the eyes, heck , and ears too \:\)

I agree. Just goes to show how much I think of her singing.

You didn't quote me all of the way. I said she was better looking than the other people who've had performances released in high-definition. Is Diana Krall on that list? Not that I'd put her above Shakira. Neither of them are really my cup of t&a, but compared to wrinkled old rockers, they'd do fine.

But anyway, I'd probably regret making another blind purchase, so I'll have to just keep holding out for a performance I actually WANT.

Sorry, beyond the music I just dont understand the appeal of Diane Krall. She kind of looks like a thinner version of Lisa Marie Presley and has a somewhat chiseled edge to her nose and jawline that rivals that of Arnie Schwartzeneger.

But then again, I find Sheryl Crow an attractive 40 year old woman.

I have the sd version of guitarscape planet . Hotness is subjective but this chick has more musical talent the the entire top 40 marketed 6 combined. This style of music is not for everyone and a little goes a long ways for me, but she has an "earthy hotness" I dig.
