Dan, as Alan indicated, you shouldn't pay too much attention to the "no less than 8 ohms" cautions that appear in many manuals. The fact that a particular unit hasn't been fully certified at 4 ohms(and legal considerations concern the manufacturer)doesn't mean that it won't do the job in the vast majority of applications. The Sherwood or HK models mentioned should serve you well.
