Hi all, just got everything hooked up. I have a single QS8 for the surround back (2x M22's for surround). however, I was watching spiderman3 on Blu-Ray. There is no sound from the QS8 back speaker. I have a HTR-6190(RX-V1800). I tried changing the track from TruHD to PCM uncompressed, but no sound. I noticed however, when selecting the sound track option. The are 5.1 only. Does that mean my receiver will not play it at 6.1? How do I enable it. I tried running the auto setup on the receiver and it detected the 6.1.

I use "Dolby Ex" on my receiver to go from 5.1 to 7.1 when the source does not support it. Look at your receiver manuals, it probably support a few DSP programs that will leave the front channels untouched, but will use the side surround info to create the back channels.

Your receiver might have something like Dolby PLx or DTS Neo that allows you to matrix a 5.1 (or less) into a 6.1 or 7.1.

Right, frosti; as the others indicated, you can use DPLIIx or Neo:6 to extract material from the side surround channels on a 5.1 disc which is about equal in level and should be imaged in the back center.
