I read a lot of good reviews about Axiom. I am interested in getting a pair of floor standing speakers and I found someone selling a 2nd hand pair of Axiom CT-60. Tried hard to find reviews but couldn't find anything. Anybody know those speakers? Are they ok? Do they worth $100? Do you know the specifications?
Thanks in advance!

Adrian

Are you referring to these ?

I don't know anything about a $350 CT series from a "couple of year ago", but the speakers photo'd have the driver layout of the M50s (currently at C$770) without the front port. So, I'm not really sure what they are. Hopefully a longer standing member will know...

M80s/VP160/QS8s/EP350; M22s; M3s.

Can you give them a listen? I grabbed some Michaura speakers recently - Axiom made them for an American company that went bust. They were well worth the little I paid for them. I think Axiom just makes great products in general. Ask to hear them. $100 sounds like a pretty good deal, in my opinion, even for an early Axiom floorstanding model.

Thanks you guys for replies. That's right "doormat", I was referring to those.( http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-Axiom-Speakers-CT-60-W0QQAdIdZ36018618) Except Axiom name, they seem to be pretty tiered and nobody could give me some info about them, yet. I think I should hear them as "ZG" suggested. The owner lives only 9km away.

Buy the Marantz, assuming that that french bit doesn't say that it doesn't work. $25 for a 2250?!

This seems like a great deal on a subwoofer too. If only there was good used Axiom stuff in the States. I'll just have to move back to Canada and fill my house with such great deals! ;\)

The posting sounds quite interesting. I only got a cd+pream+amp system and no sub out. Thanks anyways,Zoë!

You don't need a sub-out, actually. You can daisy-chain it with the speakers. You would just need an extra set of speaker cable. And, if your speakers have two sets of posts - for biwiring - you can connect the sub directly from the lower posts, with the upper ones running from the amp directly. I have mine set up that way and it totally works like a charm! My amps are too old to have the sub out option. One is from 1958, the other is from the 80s!

That sub and those speakers seem like a steal. I'd grab both if I were you - if you can afford them. That would be the beginning of a budget audiophile system.

Just my 2¢!
