The talk of the rotary subwoofers and sexiest speakers had me thinking that a thread about the gear or audio-related destinations you'd most like to experience would be a good one. In no particular order, here are the ones I'd like to spend time with/at:

Linkwitz Lab Orion Speakers - I would very much like to take a bunch of my music and hear it on these speakers. At some point, I'll really have to rent out Honeymoon Cottage and do a lot of listening.

Thigpen Rotary Woofer - I mean, you have to be curious about what you're missing.

The Quietest Place on Earth - Orfield Labs - I'm definitely going to make some friends go with me and see how long we can last in their ultra-quiet anechoic chamber in the dark. I know I take sound for granted, so it would be interesting to have this experience.

Axiom Audio - Of course, I HAVE to visit Axiom, the makers of the best system I've ever owned. It would be so cool to see where it all comes together, and to meet some of the personalities behind the products.

So these are some of my goals. What about you?

You can do a twofer if you visit Axiom as they have an anechoic chamber as well. Its an uncumfortable experience to be in there. The lack of sound preasure on your ears is just bizzare.

I have read through the linkowiz site. Quite fascinating.

Yes, they have an anechoic chamber, but not the quietest in the world. Maybe the experience is comparable, but I'd like to go for the extreme.

Interesting concept, Charles. Like you, I've been interested in hearing the Linkwitz Lab Orion Speakers, but have come nowhere near the financial capability to try.

I guess on a smaller, more affordable scale I'd like to try a Single Ended Triode Amplifier (one of the so-called flea powered amps) with a high efficiency speaker.

On the other end of the macho spectrum, I'd like to set up a home theater with multiple giant subs.

My other audio goal, which I've mentioned here before, is to try all sorts of different types of speakers and drivers--planars, ribbons, open baffles, transmission lines, full range, etc.

Oh, yes, I would really love to hear plasma speakers in addition to the kinds you mentioned.
