The 1300 is definitely a good receiver. I would only trade mine for a 1400/2400!!

What about the PANASONIC SA-HE100? I like the price on that much better.

I think the Panasonic surround receivers are terrific and a steal for the prices you can find them at. They run a bit warm, so leave space for circulation. In my opinion, they are very musical for a surround receiver. Also powerful. I had an SADX 940 for a while, rated at 5x100 watts. I have a Sony STRDB1070 rated at 6x100 watts. All I can say is, Panasonic watts are MUCH BIGGER than Sony watts. I'd say the Panny was about twice as powerful per channel as the Sony despite their ratings.
