I would like to buy either one of the above speakers. My basement is about 3500 cu. feet. I have Paradigm ADP 170's now for my surrounds and would like to move them to the back and replace with Axioms.. Should I go with the 4's or 8's? Receiver is Onkyo SR 800 7.1.125w, Parasound amp driving the main speakers..

Hey Matt,

If you can afford it, I would say get the 8's. Don't get me wrong, the 4's are very nice, but the 8's can handle more power and do better in the bass category. If you order from the Factory Outlet you'll save 10%.

I would also recommend the QS8s, they are great surround speakers.

One more recomendation for the QS8, the ability to play louder and the slightly better lower range make it worth the extra money, well IMO anyway.

Never heard the QS4's but I love my QS8's. If you can afford it get the 8's, if not I am sure you would be happy with the 4's though.

Both are great speakers, but as mentioned the QS8's will play louder, great as side surrounds.

The biggest factor in choosing either the 4s or the 8s is your room size. Based on your room size I would recommend the QS8 because they can provide more output to fill a bigger room. Other than that there will not be huge difference between the models. I have the QS4 and they are exceptional performers for both music and movies.

Given your room size the QS8s would be more siuted to the larger speaker.
The lower frequency range is irrelevant for small surround speakers.
