So Walmart will make a cake for Adolf Hitler?

I understand being upset about them not making a cake like that, but come on... They were the *bright* ones that named their kid Adolf Hitler!

I'm guessing someone will be changing their name later on in life.

Though, as always, I wonder where ShopRite draws the line? Jamal Malcolm X Smith? Julie Mary Magdalene Brown? John (7 Dirty Words) Johnson?

I posted more as a reaction to the parents choice of name than ShopRite's reaction. Poor kid.

That is a highly questionable move on the parents' part. I just don't know what else to say. . .

At least the kids at school can't do anything worse to his name to make fun of him.

I think it's a little more than a poor choice of name, here! Did you guys see the rest of the stuff in this house?

Oh the article has links. Think lots of swastikas and skulls. Of course, roughly half of the swastikas are backwards, but...

Hey, but at least they believe in Jesus. That means they're saved, right?

What's the kid holding in the picture on the linked page. You need to open the picture to see the expanded view. First I thought it was candy but at second glance it looks like a pink, toy knife blade.

This poor kid doesn't have a chance. I'm all for freedom of expression but building an impressionable kids life around symbols of hatred and genocide cross a big red line with me.

Damn, Peter. Thanks for making my blood boil at 6:45 a.m. I can't believe the stupidity of those parents.

I am reminded of a quote I heard once:

Thanks Peter. I can't remember being this disgusted. The really sad part is thinking about just what these twisted pinheads are teaching their kids.

It's actually taken me a couple days after reading this article to respond, I'm more than disgusted with the ignorance of these poor kids parents , I guess it also doesn't help that I just finished watching Band of Brothers and was reminded again of the atrocities that Hitler and the Aryan nation performed.

"They are just names"

"They are just symbols, they don't mean anything."

Symbols SYMBOLIZE things.

Respectfully, Symbols have long been a tool to inspire people.

Entire armies have retreated because the poor unarmed banner carrier happened to fall from an arrow. For some, a crucifix can inspire faith and courage but simply turn it upside down and it can inspire fear. We feel the need to stand when a flag is raised and yes, a symbol of evil can create loathing and invoke conversation such as this.

Symbols may mean nothing when used in isolation or are not understood but when symbols are used as a tool, they prey upon our emotions and can inspire action or change behaviors.

Symbols are important, because we are human and emotion is a big part of what makes us act the way we do.

Respectively, ummmm, I haven't felt the need to stand for anything in a long time.

Nah, I save the wheelies for the ladies, and besides I'd rather sit and hum a Rage Against the Machine tune in my head. \:\)

Wow it's sickening, this makes you question the Ten Commandments: "Honor your father and mother"

-- No thank you; parents need to earn their honor.
