Yes it is a disease.

It's called "upgraditus" and nearly everyone that starts buying nice equipment comes down with it. Those M60's put in in the high risk group!

I started with the simple plan of upgrading my center channel speaker. That turned into a VP150 and a pair of M22's. The VP150 and M22's lead to a switch from an Onkyo Integra receiver to Rotel separates. The Rotel gear then lead to upgrading the M22's for M60's. That lead to a second amp for 7.1. 7.1 lead to QS8 surrounds and M2i rears. Since I've gone this far, I'm not stopping until EVERYTHING has been upgraded. That leaves a new TV and DVD player. At that point I think my upgraditus should start going into remission.

I'm hoping that my remission lasts at least until Hsu comes out with a new "flagship" subwoofer.

Upgraditus. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I just upgraded to a Yamaha RX-V1400 (DPLIIx patch has already been applied to all Asian units) last week itself.

I had originally planned on getting the Pioneer 45TX equivalent but there were no goods in Hong Kong since over 3 weeks.

I picked up the Yamaha whilst in Singapore last week for USD 622.00. It will only be released in Hong Kong around mid/November but I am sure the price will be atleast a hundred US dollars more in HK.

Enjoying the much needed features that were lacking from my previous Yamaha - YPAO, DPLII & DPLIIx, powered Zone 2, better ADC/DAC's, S-Video to Component upconversion.

Compared to my old RX-V2095, I find the bass very tight on the RX-V1400. It could be YPAO's magic. It certainly brought down the 63Hz & 100 Hz frequencies in my room during Auto Setup.

Still playing with it and hope to post more on this soon.

Trust me, I have the bug too. After getting married and buying a condo this summer, though, I'm being forced to curb my A/V appetite a little bit. Ah, what am I saying, I did find a way to get a Mitsubishi widescreen this summer.

Anyway, a matching center would have to come before a new receiver. I hope to live with the receiver until it dies, but I've said that before.

well, just incase it lasts another 20 years, speed the process up a bit by pouring some sand through the top vents and hooking all of the speaker outputs together and just for good measure, jury rig it up so youve got it plugged into the dryer outlet

:-D
