Hey, I plan to place a linksys wireless n router in my computer room and use it send out my WiFi signal, and then use a linksys wireless n gaming adapter in my living room as a wireless access point. Then I plan on plugging the ethernet from the gaming adapter into a wireless g router with 4 port switch, and use the 4 switches to hard wire devices in my living room (xbox 360, ps3, denon 3808, and Toshiba a2) will I still be taking advatange of the higher data transfer rates that wireless n offers? I figure I would since I am just using the hardwired ethernet ports on the wireless g router but though I would ask anyway.

Thanks Look into flashing your Linksys-G router with DD-WRT firmware. This way you can use it in "Client Bridge" mode and connect it to your Linksys-N router. I do this and connect my TV and BD player. The DD-WRT firmware is free and there are some well written FAQS on how to do it. The only problem I ran into was I needed to use static IP addresses in the Linksys-G/DD-WRT bridge, no big deal. Doing this means you won't need the game adapter.

I actually already have a linksys wireless gaming adapter... I am wanting to upgrade for 2 reasons: my gaming adapter only supports WEP securtiy and I would liek to use WPA, and I want to upgrade to wireless n.
I don't think your suggestion would work since my router is a wireless g router, and need a wireless n capable access point.

David, I am doing exactly what you want to do (except I am all wireless g). In my 2nd floor office, I have a Linksys wireless router (WRT54GL). I am using this ethernet bridge in the basement home theater (supports WPA). I have a Linksys 8 port switch plugged into the bridge. Then I have a 3808, PS3 and Wii plugged into the switch. Everything works great. Note - I got a more powerful set of antennae for the router from Radio Shack and the signal strength improved dramatically. Not sure why you want to introduce wireless n beacuase g has been just fine.

The wirless n router I want(linksys 610N) has a usb port on the back that allows for a usb harddrive to be hooked up (and I just got a 500gb WD my passport). The router also has a built in media server, and can stream music/ect. when an external hard drive is connected. However I have yet to confirm if this built in media server will stream FLAC files. If so, This would allow me to share my music to my denon, 360, and ps3 even when the desktop is turned off (which now uses TVersity), and allow for our laptop to access a network drive over wifi to back up documents easily-even with the desktop off.

I know my linksys NAS200 streams FLAC, as that is what I use as my media server for the 3808. I would be willing to bet the 610N would be able to do it as well.
