A question and help from any imac / ipod users. Last week my hard drive in my imac crashed and I lost everything. Before the crash I had loaded all my pics to my ipod. I was able to retrieve all my purchased songs from itunes but now my problem is trying to get all my pics back. And no I did not have a backup hard drive. What would be the best way of getting my pics back? Is it possible?

Oh boy. I feel your pain.

I don't know if you'd want them back. It depends on the setting, but iTunes usually compresses the photos that it puts on your iPod. Meaning, you may have had big, high-res, photos but what you'll get back might be tiny, low-res junk.

But, junk is better than nothing.

Perhaps your photos are in there somewhere too.

And I'd highly recommend picking up an external USB drive. Keep your whole system backed up regularly.

Peter I went to the link and that seems to not apply to a mac. I tried following the instructions but nothing happened. I did purchase a backup hard drive, but to little to late. Will keep trying. Thanks anyway

I know you can use Senuti to get back music. It may get photos too, not sure.

An update on my situation. Got a download of "Touchcopy for Mac" and I was able to retrieve all my pics. Everything turned out great and no loss of picture quality. It only took me most of the night to find this product.
