I'm using them as side surrounds at the moment.

Question about m80s... can i not just let the speakers sit on the floor without the rubber feet? I'll be getting carpet later and might use the spikes then, but I'm not a big fan of the feet.

And it looks like i'm going to wait to hook everything up as my riser for the TV and m80s isn't ready yet. going to hook up the m80s and the 800 for the party tonight though.

Can someone please tell me what I can do about a cat!! I can't get rid of him, but I need to do something about the shedding... is there any way I can wash the grills?

Maybe take the grills off and use a damp wash cloth to wipe them down? Or try one of those lint rollers that have the sticky tape on it.

Also, I think it is best to place the m80's on the feet (rubber or spiked)... at least that is what I was told.

I've never bothered putting any feet on my M80s (or the EP800). They sit fine on the carpet without. If I didn't have carpet I'd probably be more inclined to use the feet.

Another question... what kind of cable do I need for the 800? I've read the manual (they should really put pics in there for us dummies)... I don't have any special cables so I'm guessing rca is my only option right now. But can someone send a link for future reference, what would be the best cable to get?

With subwoofers noise rejection of the cable is more important than low capacitance (which can cause high-frequency roll-off which is can be an issue with full-range interconnects, and definitely with video).

So a well shielded RCA cable is all you really need. If your receiver/pre-amp has a balanced output for the sub connection you can use a balanced cable ( http://www.axiomaudio.com/balancedcable.html ). If your receiver only has an RCA out, that's the best you're going to get; an RCA to XLR cable will be of no benefit (as this conversion is going to be performed better inside the sub's amp anyway).

But what you have now should work fine, as long as you aren't noticing hum (which may be picked up by running beside a power cable--ground loops are another matter).
