The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass. Very odd book, but very good.

I'm reading: The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality by Brian Greene.
Extremely interesting book. Brian is very good at explaining very complex subject matters in a way that a dummy like me can understand :-)

I'm still reading the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. Very interesting, yet very odd, literary alternate universe stuff.

I finally got around to reading and finishing Pillars of the Earth recently. I think it's going to put me on a historical fiction kick because I'm itching for more. Fortunately, there's a sequel to keep me going.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Peter. I suspect you'll enjoy the sequel as well. \:\)

As soon as I finished, I went to wikipedia and read up on the White Ship incident, Thomas Becket, Romanesque and Gothic architecture, and the various actual buildings in the novel.

I love books push me to learn.

I enjoyed both books in that series as well. Amazing that an author of fiction could induce an interest in architecture when I had only a visual interest in it before. I found the second book good but a bit long. It kept wrapping up plots then inventing new ones. I enjoyed it but the editor needed to take a stronger hand and get him to tie it together more. Personal opinion, of course.

Dilbert 2.0: 20 Years of Dilbert

I'm not very far in, but it's interesting hearing the origins of the strip so far.

I have been meaning to read Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals by John Gray. Hope to get to it soon...
